Hi everyone. And welcome to senior living on the Suncoast. I'm your host, Steve Bennet-Martin. And I'm happy to bring you the only senior center podcast to assist us all. As we navigate the complex systems of aging together, up and down the sun coast of Florida. My mission with this podcast is to help make sure that the rest of your life is the best of your life, which means today we'll be talking about senior living news and updates for the week of November 30th. Yes. Not only is the Thanksgiving season over and we are well into the Christmas season officially, but we also have a lot. Going on in senior care virtually it's a help go against the tides of the rising numbers of COVID. I will make sure that any events that I'm mentioning at least for the near future will be online to prevent any risk of spread. but for those professionals in the industry, such as myself, seniors blue book has planned their virtual ugly sweater holiday party this year for December 17th. So that's a couple of weeks away. At 10:00 AM online. So to RSVP, you would want to reach out to Brittany Jennings. And as always, I will include her contact information in the show notes, as well as the link for the next event for seniors and caregivers in our community. And that is that the department of elder affairs. Is holding a free diabetes self-management program online right now through zoom through the 15th of December. And it runs from two to four 30, a couple of times a week. And I will post the show notes to the Facebook page for the event with more details on that as well for you. And I also wanted to just take a moment. Last week, we had the 20, 20 Suncoast, senior living care awards. It was my first ever award show that I thought of and created and performed a Brittany was an amazing cohost and it couldn't have been done without Sierra Butler as my co-producer. As well as the ability to really get back to the community at the same time, thanks to all of my sponsors. but in terms of senior living news, after the awards, which I did put as not only last week's episode, but it's still up on Facebook. If you want to watch it, the visual format where you can see me cheering and doing all the solution and against you'll hear about if you listened to last week's episode, but it was a great time at the community support afterwards that people sharing their own awards. And like their family sharing, you know, their loved ones awards and the businesses and the, the entire community support afterwards. There's just so overwhelming that, you know, for a good two days, anytime that I looked anywhere on Facebook, you know, it was not long before I saw someone, even if they didn't tag me on the old boards or senior living on the Suncoast on the awards, they were. Posting about the awards. And so that was really heartwarming. And I wanted to thank all of you listeners for making this possible, because going around and asking for sponsors and things to make a whole award show happen. Isn't something that just happens when Steve wants to make an award show. It is something that senior living on the Suncoast put on. And so we wouldn't have this podcast and therefore we wouldn't have these awards if it wasn't for you listeners. So, thank you very much for tuning in. Thank you for sticking with us. As we went through our Glasserie and some current news, I look forward to working on finding new experts. Some of whom might be Cara award winners for the new future, but until then everyone stay healthy and stay happy.
