Hello there, everyone. And welcome to senior living on the Suncoast. I'm your host, Steve Bennet-Martin, and happy to bring you the only senior centered podcast to assist us all. As we navigate the complex systems of aging together, up and down, the sun coast of Florida. And today is September 21st of 2020. We wanted to give you a few updates on our little mid in between major episode interviews. As we are getting adjusted to our new schedule and planning some exciting things in the upcoming future. So to get started, this week on Wednesday, the 23rd, we do have the taste of Thailand event at my job, hardest seniors living for those in the community, caregivers and seniors alike. And we will be holding this. The same event on Thursday, the 24th or professionals. So you can call to reserve your time slot either day. Their number is (941) 499-1800 and other events coming up. We also do have the Sarasota County aging network is partnering with hardest Venice to do a trigger tree, Halloween costume candy bar event extravaganza. Friday, October 30th, that is quite some time away, but we are in the early stages. And if you are a professional and interested in getting involved in getting a gift basket, please reach out to the podcast or to the Sarasota County aging network, please. And, and local news. Seniors and caregivers and professionals alike. Don't forget to make sure you are registered to vote. for those of you in the Sarasota County area. If you have not registered to vote, you can get all the resources you need, or you can even get more information about voting. If you are a registered voter at www dot Sarasota dot com. Meanwhile, if you are needed on coast or have not registered to vote. For one reason or another and decide that now is the time to write, do so, which we highly encourage. you can also go to www dot, registered to vote, florida.gov to get started. So I will include those in the show notes. In other news later to the podcast, I did also want to share that we are in the process of gathering a group of experts to give little bits and pieces too. These stitched together to create the caregiving glossary. So that'll be a series of episodes. I plan to release during the month of October that can give everyone who's been listening, new and old, a great chance to catch up and review the major takeaways and major definitions from previous episodes. just because not everyone has a chance to go back if they need that help and listen to. You know, a 20 to 30 minute episode every week listening to 25 of those in a row, that's a whole bunch of hours. And so this way should be a great quick resource. So stay forward, stay tuned and looking forward to that. And lastly, I am happy to announce that I will be creating the 2020 care awards. For us, the Suncoast area. I am looking forward to creating partnerships and getting the news out there. But after the year that we've had, I've been very passionate about this idea and I'm working on it now, because I want to give a chance to thank everyone. Who's been doing an amazing job in our community, not just this year, but all previous years. So please stay tuned for that. If you'd like more information on how to get involved with that, or have ideas for the caregiver, glossary, or other future episodes, please reach out to [email protected] That is H a P P Y L I F E P O [email protected] And until next time everyone stay happy.
